Art & Sketches

Papercut Chronicles

Mixed media art created for a conceptual CD package for Gym Class Heroes' Papercut Chronicles. It was meant to be a poster that came in the package. I experimented with printing my photographs on spray painted paper. This was the result... It was one of the first times I really became hands on with a design and this was the beautiful result.

Live a Little

A few sketches for possible typographic solutions for an art project I was giving someone as a gift. "Live a Little" is the title of a Gym Class Heroes song (listen to it here).

Bluejay

Pen and ink portrait sketch of my friend, Bluejay. This was done during my little portrait sketching phase when I decided I wanted to work on portraits for one week. This was one of five I did that week.

Line, Form, Color

This artwork is a master copy from an artist who's name I can't recall at the moment (but I will find it!). This artwork was executed in three stages to study the lines, forms, then color of the piece.

Detournment: The New Mona

What is beauty? That is the question this piece asks. It questions our definition and standards of beauty in today's society. This piece uses body parts from famous celebrities juxtaposed onto the famous Mona Lisa by Leonardo DaVinci. Although we all agree that the painting of this woman is beautiful, if she were living in today's world, even the beautiful Mona Lisa would have to change her appearance to be deemed "beautiful."
